Our focus is training puppies and adult dogs to be great pets, family members and life-long friends. Rocky Mountain Dog Training uses rewards--based methods to shape behaviors, and positive, force-free training techniques to troubleshoot behavioral challenges. We believe whole-heartedly in creating a trust-based relationship for you and your dog, free from fear, coercion or intimidation.
Simple and Effective Training Solutions
Each training exercise is demonstrated and practiced in class, and we provide supporting documentation at each session so you can feel confident when you go home to practice. We are always available by phone or email to support you as you work between classes on your training exercises.
When to Begin
Dogs start learning the moment they arrive in this world. When they join your family, your actions and reactions can and do shape their behavior so being aware of how to interact with your dog effectively to reinforce appropriate behaviors is very important. Prevention is always the best, most cost effective training solution and can be easily integrated into your lifestyle with a little know-how. We can help you set your dog up for success from the beginning! That said, you may be contacting us today because your dog is already exhibiting any number of other unwanted behaviors. Some examples might be...
- Jumping up during greetings
- Reactivity when approaching other dogs or people
- Desctructive chewing
- Guarding food or toys
- Potty training issues
- Could your dog use some help with basic manners?
We will teach you the fundamentals of how dogs learn, give you a basic understanding of canine body language so that you can understand better what your dog is trying to communicate to you, and teach you how to implement protocols to address unwanted or inappropriate behaviors.
A Rewarding and Fun Training Experience
Our classes are great for both single-handler and full family participation. We do our very best to accomodate your schedule and budgetary considerations by offering a flexible training schedule for our private lessons, and both private and group classes are affordably priced. Your experience with Rocky Mountain Dog Training should be fun, educational, and ultimately create a mutually respectful and loving relationship between you and your dog!
